For Accordion I worked with the accordion player Mark Knoop and composer Neil Luck. After shooting the initial performance on 16mm black and white film I then divided the work into two by differentiating between the inward and outward movements of player and instrument. The resulting two films (to be played simultaneously though separated) are the product of both the logic of the accordion and its operator as they are edited following the INs and OUTs of his performance rather than aesthetic decisions by me whilst cutting.
